HP signs Tamim Iqbal as brand ambassador in Bangladesh, January 6, 2011

The world’s largest technology company, HP signed the sensational Bangladeshi cricketer Tamim Iqbal as its Brand Ambassador in Bangladesh. HP is known for the quality and performance driven products where the performance of Tamim comes as a natural fit. HP will use Tamim to reach out to the youth and use his popularity in that segment. As a part of the deal, Tamim will be used in print, television, outdoor campaigns as well as promotional events and mass engagement programs across Bangladesh. Tamim will represent HP products and services including the PC and notebooks which already has significant preference and share in Bangladesh market. The contract is for a year which starts from 1 December 2010.

 

Mr. Philip Lau, General Manager, Personal Systems Group, HP AEC, Mr. Imrul Hossain Bhuiyan, Country Business Manager, HP Personal Systems Group, Bangladesh, Tamim Iqbal and media representatives were present at the conference.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Philip Lau, General Manager, HP said, “HP believes in Tamim Iqbal’s potential and the performance that he has delivered over the years. It is a testimony to his talent. The deal affirms our belief in him and is undoubtedly a big enforcement for HP. Being associated with one of Bangladesh’s leading cricketing superstars is a reflection of what HP aims to be. We want to truly associate and reach out to the youth of this country.”

Tamim Iqbal, having been named Wisden cricketer of the year 2010, is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in Bangladesh cricket and is arguably the hardest hitter of the cricket ball in the country. Tamim comes from a cricketing family that has been serving Bangladesh cricket for a fair long time.
